Arrive 925
Rethinking refugee integration in Germany
Arrive Nine-to-Five (A925) was born from the desire to address the challenges faced by refugees in Germany, focusing on improving their integration into the local economy.
Challenge
The project aimed to tackle several complex challenges:
- Identifying concrete issues within the refugee integration process
- Navigating the intricacies of the German job market and bureaucracy
- Overcoming language and cultural barriers
- Matching refugee skills with employer needs efficiently
We intended to develop a solution that would seamlessly connect refugees with meaningful employment opportunities, encouraging economic integration and social cohesion.
Immersive Research Journey
We embarked on a comprehensive research process, including:
- Expert interviews with key stakeholders
- Co-creation brainstorming sessions with Syrian migrants
- Workshops with volunteers, arrival centers, BAMF, Sozialamt, and job centers
- Extensive literary research to understand the broader context
Digital Bridge to Opportunity
The culmination of our efforts resulted in:
- A job-matching app connecting refugees with employers
- Focus on specific skillsets and experiences for precise matching
- A clean, simple interface masking complex underlying processes
Ongoing Impact and Evolution
While the app’s interface is streamlined, its potential impact is vast:
- Facilitating smoother economic integration for refugees
- Providing employers with access to diverse talent pools
- Contributing to a more inclusive and dynamic German economy
This innovative solution represents a step towards a more integrated and prosperous society, where skills know no borders and opportunities are accessible to all.
